N. calliantha Conard

N. calliantha Conard is a species waterlily from Africa. It is not as some have suggested synonymous with N. caerulea Savigny. It is a distinct species that comes true from seed. It's seeds produce plants with flowers in a pink, light blue and purple form. It has flowers in a 4 to 6 inch size range. Held high above the water like the star waterlilies.

This is pictures of a purple form gotten from southern Rhodesia. Further seed testing trials will be conducted later this year to reaffirm Conard's description as per IWPR research.
